Snoring
Do you snore?
Snoring is the sound made by obstructed airflow during sleep. The sound may be soft or loud and unpleasant. The airflow restriction is usually located in the throat or, less commonly, the nose. Loud snoring can cause marital and relationship problems. Furthermore, severe snoring can also be a sign of "sleep apnea." Sleep apnea occurs when the airflow obstruction is so great that the throat completely closes off and breathing stops during sleep. The symptoms of sleep apnea are fatigue, sleepiness, irritability, and decrease in sex-drive, lack of focus, poor concentration, and waking frequently during the night. Sleep apnea is a very serious problem that is known to increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. We specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.
